
FARIDABAD, JANTANTRA TODAY/ The Directorate of Sports, MRIIRS, successfully organized the Manav Rachna Open Senior Basketball (Men & Women) Tournament 2025 on January 26–27, 2025, at the MRIIRS Basketball Courts. This inaugural tournament brought together 27 teams from across Northern India, comprising over 300 athletes and their coaches. The tournament witnessed fierce competition among some of the region’s most accomplished teams, including: MNIT, Jaipur, Army Service Corps (629 ASC), NIT Delhi, Khalsa College Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Delhi, Ashoka University Sonipat, Bennett University, Noida, Sir Chhotu Ram Academy, Sonipat, Pt. Neki Ram College, Rohtak, Cosmic Academy Noida, Swish Academy Faridabad, Under 1 Roof Academy Faridabad, NSBA Academy, Faridabad, Delhi Sports Academy, Cheethas Academy, Faridabad, Geetanjali Academy, Sonipat, K.L. Mehta Dayanand College, Faridabad, MRIIRS & MRU Faridabad.

The closing ceremony, graced by Mr. Sarkar Talwar, Dronacharya Awardee and Director of Sports, MRIIRS, was a grand affair. Mr. Talwar distributed prizes to the winners and praised the participants for their spirit of sportsmanship and dedication.
For the first time, MRIIRS hosted an open basketball championship of this scale, welcoming teams, coaches, and referees from across the region. The atmosphere was charged with emotion and competitive energy, as participants vied not only for the championship titles but also for exciting cash prizes.

- Winner: Geetanjali Academy, Sonipat
- Runner-Up: Delhi Sports Academy
- Final Score: 49–34
- MVP (Most Valuable Player): Anchal (Geetanjali Academy)
Senior Men’s Category:
- Winner: Army Service Corps (629 ASC)
- Runner-Up: Swish Academy, Faridabad
- Final Score: 52–44
- MVP (Most Valuable Player): Rinku (Army Service Corps)
