“Best out of Waste” workshop and Online Quiz Competition

Faridabad , Jantantra Today / On October 15, 2024, the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) at Aggarwal College Ballabgarh,
successfully hosted a “Best out of Waste” workshop in the college library. Simultaneously, the
Management Department organized an Online Quiz Competition to celebrate World Students’
Day. Under the dynamic leadership of Chairman Mr. Devender Kumar Gupta and General
Secretary Mr. Dinesh Gupta, the event aimed to promote sustainability and creativity by
encouraging students to transform waste materials into useful products. College keeps
conducting such events under the able guidance of Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Acting Principal and Dr.
Sachin Garg, Inchage Wing 1. A total of 150 registrations were received, out of which 75
students participating from nine different colleges from state of Haryana. In the quiz
competition, students demonstrated their knowledge and competitive spirit, with Sameer (BBA,
St. Peter’s College, Faridabad) emerging as the winner, followed by Kajal (BBA, Aggarwal
College) in second place and Kartik Raj Kapoor (BCA, IMT Faridabad) in third.


In Best out of Waste workshop, Participants showcased various creative projects, such as wall art
made from old fabric and decorative items crafted from scrap materials. A panel of faculty
judges evaluated the projects based on creativity, functionality, and environmental impact, with
awards given to the top teams: Chestha (BBA 2nd) and Khushi (BCA Final) secured first place,
followed by Khusboo (MCA 1st Year) and Dimple (BCA 1st) in second, and Jyoti (BBA 3rd)
and Ram Garg (MCA) in third. Manpreet (BBA) received a consolation prize. Dr. Shilpa Goel,
Vice president IIC and Ms. Mohini Verma, HOD Computer Science inspired students to embrace
opportunities for growth and engagement through such events.Both events were well-received,
fostering a culture of innovation and sustainability at Aggarwal College. The success of the “Best
out of Waste” workshop not only inspired creativity among students but also reinforced the
college’s commitment to engaging them in meaningful projects that benefit both the environment
and the community. The Innovation Club plans to continue hosting similar workshops in the
future.
