Faridabad , Jantantra Today / Greater Noida, March 9, 2026 :—– PNB Housing Finance, through its CSR arm Pehel Foundation, launched the ‘Go Green’ initiative in partnership with CATCH Foundation and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, to plant 1,00,000 native trees and develop a Miyawaki dense forest in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The initiative underscores the Company’s continued commitment towards environmental sustainability, in the wake of rapid urbanisation and depleting green cover in Delhi NCR region.
Spread across 12 acres at two identified sites in Greater Noida, the project includes the plantation of 65,000 trees near DMIC and 35,000 trees in Sector Ecotech 10 in Greater Noida – strengthening the green cover, improving air quality and enhancing biodiversity in the region. The initiative focuses on the long-term nurturing and maintenance of the trees using the Miyawaki method – a proven scientific approach towards creating a self-sustaining dense forest ecosystem with higher survival rates and accelerated growth.
Mr. Ajai Kumar Shukla, MD & CEO, PNB Housing Finance, said, “Through Pehel Foundation, our focus is on creating sustained social and environmental impact in the communities we serve. The Go Green initiative reflects a structured and outcome-driven approach to strengthening green cover and restoring local ecosystems in Delhi NCR region. It can serve as a replicable model for urban afforestation and create lasting environmental benefits for Greater Noida region. We are also grateful to CATCH Foundation and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority for their support in helping us build environmentally resilient communities for the future.”
Mr. Bharat Sisodia, Founder Chairman, CATCH Foundation, said, “We are proud to partner with PNB Housing Finance and GNIDA for the ‘Go Green’ initiative. The Miyawaki method is scientifically proven to yield higher survival rates and support rapid growth of trees, enabling us to create a thriving native forest that will enhance biodiversity and improve environmental health in the Delhi NCR region.”
Ms. Shree Laxmi VS, ACEO, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, said, “Owing to rapid urbanization and industrialisation in Greater Noida City, there is a need for more green spaces and urban forests to maintain the air quality in the city. We value this collaboration with PNB Housing Finance and CATCH Foundation, particularly as it combines scientific afforestation methods with a strong long-term maintenance commitment.”
As part of the programme, PNB Housing Finance organised a volunteering activity with employees and customers on 7th March in Greater Noida, where they collectively participated in the plantation drive, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community‑led development.
